Hi Alex,
We will work on it; The quick solution - create a version that does NOT save locally, just upload to our server over the internet and helping you and others from this Vista 'saving you from yourself' nonesense.h
Best,
TuneWiki team
Is it possible for us to upload lyrics which you guys can then verify and save? I was attempting contribute some timing but was not satisfied with some of the lyrics. Tomcleod.
A Few Suggestions
This is a fantastic project and I'm thrilled to contribute. Off the bat I found a few limitations:
- Lyrics should indicate interludes/bridges/breaks in some way just as the 'End' is noted.
- At the end of syncing a song the user should be asked if they want to submit the data. This would have come in handy when I realized the song I was syncing was a remix of what was in the database and thus incomplete.
- Submit Album id3 data to the server for lyric retrieval to reduce the above problem.
Tomcleod, we thought about interludes/bridges/breaks and would love to get ideas how to write them. Do you feel like inventing this sign language and implementing it in few songs by editing the songs?

As the iLyricPlayer app already uses ::end:: for the end of a song, I suggest using the ::sectionname:: notation for other things. One could simply enter them into the lyrics as regular text, for example:
blah blah blah ::interlude:: blah blah blah
However, two points:
- I wouldn't use this all over the place as it could be distracting the lyrics. A long section of song with no lyrics would be a great place for ::interlude:: or something similar, but I would not identify every section of the song.
- Since the idea is to view the lyrics as they're being sung, we should discourage using things like ::chorus:: or ::repeatx2:: and things of that nature. It would be a good idea to explicitly list which :::: tags are acceptable so there is no confusion about when/where to use them. If this sounds reasonable we could create a separate page for this and discuss the format and usage of such a system.
Just a suggestion :) --Euicho 16:36, 11 April 2008 (BST)
Chinese support
This is an innovative idea of TuneWiki, espeically consider the nice merge with the large screen iPod Touch and iPhone. However, as a native Chinese, it unforunate that TuneWiki is not supporting Chinese and as a quick trial, it is neither succesful with Japanese nor Korean. I think the support of unicode can bring TuneWiki to a new level.
Thanks for your input, we intend to make it unicode very soon, ...we have some more surprises for international users ...wait and see...
check my sync count/iphone app
two things i think should be changed....
first when i check my sync count online it doesn't actually tell me a number it just shows all the different songs i've synced. i'm left only knowing that i've synced, well, basically too many to count, number of songs.
the other thing. i usually dock my iphone when i listen to it. when i use the ipod app (the standard music player on the iphone), if it is docked the phone knows not to shut the screen off while music is playing, it only will dim after thirty seconds. but with the tunewiki player it will turn off in the middle of lyrics and listening, as if the phone is just idle. this is very annoying if i want to a)watch the lyrics, or b) sync a song that has an instrumental longer than 1 minute. this requires me to hit the top button and then swipe the slider to get it open again!
i know i can change the setting in the phone, but that too is annoying to have to do every time i want to tunewiki.
i love the program and the concept. please give deep thought my ideas.
oh yeah and us mac users should be top priority! please get us an os x tunewiki app!
lyrics no longer show up after upgrading to 1.1.3 iphone
I love this applicaiton, however I recently rehacked my iphone down to 1.1.1 and then back up to 1.1.3. Everything is working fine except that the songs that used to pull up in tunewiki no longer show up. ALL of my songs say no lyrics yet. What gives? I uninstalled and reinstalled tunewiki but with the same result. is there a setting on the iphone I need to check? did something change? I have not discovered anything else on the iphone that is not working after the upgrade.
help.
we will fix it in the next update as 1.1.3 changed things.
What happens is the 1.1.3 upgrade erased your LRC directory; you will need to remake it
directory /private/var/root/Media/LRC and set the permissions of 0777 recursively.
best, TuneWiki team.
It seems to be something else; even creating this directory with full permissions does not make it work..
I fixed it by installing Symlinks from the installer!! Regards, Ali
What did you use to jailbreak your iphone?? and are you on a pc or mac? if using a pc, you will need to restore your iphone to its original state, update to whichever version you want, then jailbreak. i had the same problem and that cured it, but you'll need to download all your apps, btw i used the ziphone jailbreak. you might want to make sure your imei number on the phone is what is registered under iphone/settings/general/about. check the last four of the imei number.you also might want to download bsb subsystem and or update it. if that doesn't work, update to 1.1.4 then install the source HTTP://BLAZECO.INFO/BLAZE.XML and then under installer/install there should be a folder named blaze softwares.in that there should be 1.1.1/1.1.2/1.1.3/1.1.4 SvPatchs. choose whichever you want, and that will trick the firmware to use 1.1.4 firmware, but act as 1.1.3. as a matter of fact, try that first. -Wheeler
