Basic Instructions

Running the TuneWiki PC lyrics editor application for the first time:

Click OK, and then choose a directory to scan. You can choose the entire C:\ drive and the program will scan all your folders digging out every MP3, WAV or AIF files you have. (This currently will not pull songs in .m4a format or any purchased songs in iTunes.)

  1. Select an Artist - All songs in the appropriate format will show.
  2. Select the song you wish to modify. (The current lyric and timing information will be fetched if it exists in the database.)
  3. From here you may edit or add the lyrics to the large text box.

  • Sync times(when present) will show up at the beginning of each line of lyrics in the time format [MM:SS:Milliseconds]. If you are making small changes in the lyrics and do not wish to modify the timing, please do not change/remove them.

Saving

There are currently two situations in which changes to lyrics will be saved and updated to the database:

  1. The syncing information is already in the database and you modify the lyrics and click the save button.
  2. You fully change/add the lyrics and follow the the Sync/Re-Sync instructions below.
  • Clicking the save button alone WILL NOT always save your work to the server.

To sync/re-sync a song:

The best way to do this currently is to mouse-click the first line of lyrics when the song starts playing. As it goes into the next line, hit enter(this works in a similar way as on the iPhone/iTouch).

  • Whenever any of the lines is clicked, it will modify the timing header to the current play time.

  2. Show list of songs (if artist selected, then just of that artist)
  3. Play / pause toggle
